Maximus is building an advanced telemedicine platform to help men improve their mental and physical health. We iterate rapidly and safely by applying continuous integration, code quality measurements, TDD, and pair programming when appropriate. We work collaboratively, emphasizing team productivity, and aim to deliver a robust, reliable system using pragmatic, proven technologies. We hone our craft with advanced functional, data-oriented techniques suitable to our challenges.

Responsibilities

• Write and ship high-quality code, contributing across the codebase to complete features and changes with team support. Prioritize quality and reliability through unit tests, automated integration tests, TDD, and refactoring. Maintain data security and privacy at all times.
• Improve our engineering organization by identifying quality, performance, and operational issues. Collaborate to address impediments, define standards, and enhance processes, positively influencing team objectives and tactics.
• Participate actively in product iteration and development, translating business and product ideas into software designs and releases. Work cross-functionally with engineering, marketing, and product teams. Product & project management experience is a plus.

Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

• 6+ years in product software development, especially public consumer web applications
• Experience with React/Redux/ImmutableJS (front-end)
• Experience with Ruby on Rails / Ruby (back-end), with a preference for Ruby experience
• Knowledge of unit and integration testing
• Interest or experience in pair programming

Nice To Have

• Experience with queue/background processing, third-party integrations (Stripe, 3PL, etc.)
• Interest in Event Sourcing and immutability/functional programming patterns
• TDD experience
