Impinj’s Brazilian Lab in Porto Alegre seeks a seasoned Test Engineer for our silicon engineering team. You will work closely with IC designers and test engineers on chip and product qualification, setting up measurements, and executing tests on packaged samples and bare dies.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related field with 5+ years of relevant work experience or Technician degree in one of the above fields.
  • Basic knowledge of IC components and ability to read datasheets.
  • Experience with PCB design software.
  • Experience with standard test and measurement equipment (spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, oscilloscopes).
  • Experience with programming and test automation equipment.
  • Fluent Portuguese and English communication skills.

Team Overview:

The Brazilian Impinj Lab is a fast-growing hub at the forefront of the RAIN RFID industry. Our Brazilian Product Test Engineering team plays a critical role in Impinj's silicon engineering organization helping build the next generation of tag and reader chips.

What you will do:
  • Work closely with IC designers and test engineers through preparation and execution of chips and product qualification tests.
  • Mount test setups for measurement and complete the tests on both packaged samples and bare dies (using die prober).
  • Configure and execute test automation software.
  • Provide support for operating prototyping and production test equipment.
  • Solder, mount components, and design printed circuit boards.
  • Purchase materials and components and be responsible for Lab infrastructure maintenance.
  • Compile and evaluate test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specifications.
  • Develop and execute scripts for collecting, organizing and processing raw test data.
What you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant work experience or Technician degree in one of the above-mentioned fields or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of integrated circuit (IC) components.
  • Ability to read and interpret datasheets and technical documentation.
  • Experience using PCB design software.
  • Experience with standard test and measurement equipment, including spectrum analyzers, power meters, signal generators, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with programming and using test automation equipment.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in both written and spoken Portuguese and English.

Individual base pay depends on various factors such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties, requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Both market wage data and the mid-point of the pay range is reviewed and used as the starting point for all new hire offers. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time.

At Impinj certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
