Description

Hybrid: This position requires you to work on-site 3 times a week (Tue to Thu) What You'll Do (Responsibilities): Design, development, analysis, implementation, and validation of the complex Roof and Vision systems (Roof Rack, Glasses, Wiper and Washers, Rearview Mirrors, Air inlet Panels and Fuel Filler Doors) will be your day-to-day duties. Perform engineering design evaluations and concept development across vehicle programs Utilize engineering tools (DFMEA, ICDs, PFMEA) and leverage CAE groups including Safety Performance to successfully develop the best system solution Assessment of design to manufacturing processes Package components, manage CAD development through supplier or GM designers and collaborate with other systems within the vehicle (Electrical, Body, Chassis, Propulsion, etc.). Ensure best practices are incorporated in the CAD and seeks support when best practice not met. Schedule and lead Peer Reviews Work cross-functionally to support initial vehicle configuration work, realize cost optimization, deliver customer-driven requirements, and implement product and process improvements Balance business imperatives, including but not limited to cost, mass, complexity, timing, and content Communicate information to and from internal and external customer organizations (e.g. Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, Suppliers) and lead the product development team (PDT). Track and resolve open issues with support. Review, support and apply benchmarking for design direction competitiveness. Support in the development of Statement of Requirements (SOR) creation and lead in the development of statements of work, key partner for DFMEA/DRBFM/FEA Participate in launch activities Soft Skills: Self-motivated to work independently Ability to contribute to technical projects and work effectively in a team environment Willing to gain specific training from a variety of people / techniques Exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with diverse teams Innovative Demonstrate Be Inclusive behavior

Additional DescriptionYour Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications): Bachelor’s Degree completed in engineering Proven technical experience and professional skills in job-related area Advanced or Fluent English Ability to travel (domestic and international) Active CREA What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications): Prior automotive engineering experience developing and executing technical solutions to support new vehicle programs Experience applying the results of CAE analysis to optimize performance Experience/knowledge of manufacturing techniques and/or material sciences of Suspension and Isolation components Experience with engineering tools (e.g. GD&T, DFMEA, SOR, Change Orders, etc.) Able to navigate and execute in Math Data Viewing and Analysis/Engineering Change Release Demonstrated ability in packaging of components within vehicles systems, ability to make tradeoffs when needed, and negotiate with cross-functional partners and suppliers Comfortable working with multidisciplinary and cross-cultural teams Ability to deal optimally with ambiguity and forward-thinking environment
