Job Title: Senior Database Administrator (DBA)

Location: Remote

Overview:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator (DBA) with a strong background in Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server databases, as well as expertise in automation and scripting.

Responsibilities:

• Database Management: Install, configure, and maintain Oracle, MySQL, and SQL Server databases in production, test, and development environments.
• Performance Optimization: Monitor and optimize database performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
• Backup and Recovery: Design and implement backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data integrity.
• Automation: Develop and maintain scripts for database automation tasks, including backups, monitoring, and performance tuning.
• Security: Implement and manage database security policies to protect sensitive data.
• Issue Resolution: Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, providing support to application developers and other stakeholders.
• Capacity Planning: Plan and manage database capacity to ensure scalability and performance.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and other team members.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience as a DBA in a mission-critical production environment.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in Oracle (versions 10g to 21c), MySQL, and SQL Server (versions 2000 to 2022).
• Strong scripting skills in SQL/T-SQL, PL/SQL, PowerShell, and Linux/Unix shell scripting.
• Experience with database management and monitoring tools such as Oracle Enterprise Manager and SQL Server Management Studio.
• Knowledge of cloud services like AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud.
• Familiarity with High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.
• Certifications: Preferred certifications include Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA), and AWS Certified Database.
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Language Skills: Fluent in English, both written and spoken.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with automation tools and frameworks.
• Knowledge of database replication, clustering, and virtualization technologies.
