We are seeking a highly skilled remote Senior Data DevOps Engineer to join our remote team.
As a Senior Data DevOps Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining infrastructure as code, utilizing your expertise in Pulumi (or similar tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Istio), Concourse CI, and Big Data technologies such as Cloudera (HDFS, HIVE, SPARK, KAFKA). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines, ensuring the availability, performance, and security of our systems.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable and reliable data pipelines using infrastructure as code
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues related to infrastructure, performance, and security
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline deployment and release processes
- Ensure the availability, performance, and security of our systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance
- Participate in code reviews, offering input on infrastructure and deployment-related issues
- Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for DevOps processes and tools
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, with a proven track record in infrastructure as code development and maintenance
- Expertise in Pulumi (or similar tools like Terraform, Kubernetes, Istio), Concourse CI, and Big Data technologies such as Cloudera (HDFS, HIVE, SPARK, KAFKA)
- Proficient in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Perl
- Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration
- Ability to work independently and manage stress effectively, maintaining high performance under pressure
- Fluent spoken and written English at an Upper-Intermediate level or higher
