Role Overview

We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who will also own and drive our build systems and CI workflows. This role sits within the Core Engineering team, and works closely with R&D and other groups to improve developer experience, testing, and release quality.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the development and optimization of our build pipelines (Bazel, SWC).


• Drive migrations and maintenance of our monorepos (eg. Lerna → PNPM).


• Manage and evolve CI workflows (GitHub Actions).


• Collaborate with engineers to improve code quality, testing strategies, and release practices.


• Support developer environments and tooling.


• Troubleshoot and resolve build and deployment issues quickly and effectively.


• Contribute to backend product development and architecture decisions.

You Bring

• Deep knowledge of TypeScript, Node.js, and modern backend architectures.


• Proven experience with build tools (Bazel, SWC, etc.).


• Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, versioning, and release management.


• Experience with monorepo tools (Lerna, NX, PNPM).


• Hands-on with Docker and containerized builds.


• A performance-first mindset with strong debugging and optimization skills.


• Bonus: Familiarity with NestJS, Kafka, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure).
