We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will play a key role in making it easier for users to access Rain and in building products that help users maintain positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking.

Our ideal candidate is eager to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Implement observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for systems, APIs, and workflows.
• Monitor system performance and scalability opportunities.
• Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Go/Golang, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable, reliable applications.
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes.
• Ownership of projects from concept to deployment.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
