We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that maintain positive cash flow. You will collaborate with international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless user transactions, account creation, and employer linking.

The ideal candidate is excited to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
• Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile apps.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Enforce observability best practices with logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability opportunities.
• Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building reliable, scalable applications.
• Understanding of distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes.
• Ownership of projects from concept to completion.
• Experience with agile methodologies, message queuing systems (Kafka preferred), CI/CD frameworks.
