We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This position is remote. The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that support positive cash availability. You will collaborate with international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a fully distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Create detailed technical documentation including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficient in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs and database technologies (SQL and NoSQL).
• Experience in building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ownership-driven with experience in agile methodologies.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Effective release management and CI/CD experience.
