We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that maintain positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with our international teams to manage a digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking.

Our ideal candidate is excited about tackling technical challenges and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Implement observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficient in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Strong experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and optimization.
• Experience with scalable, reliable user-facing applications.
• Proficiency in distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiar with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, GCP, and tools like Docker, Kubernetes.
• Ability to own projects and drive initiatives independently.
• Experience with agile methodologies and CI/CD frameworks.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Effective release management skills for zero downtime deployments.
