We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and build products that promote positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a digital wallet that enables seamless account creation and employer linking.

Our ideal candidate is excited to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Document solutions thoroughly, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability opportunities.
9. Communicate and collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
4. Experience designing RESTful APIs.
5. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
6. Experience with scalable distributed systems and microservices architecture.
7. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
8. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
9. Ability to own projects from start to finish, proactively solving challenges.
10. Experience with agile methodologies like Scrum and Kanban.
11. Proficiency with message queuing systems such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
12. Experience with CI/CD frameworks like GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
