We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will play a key role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help maintain positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet, enabling seamless transactions and employer linking. The ideal candidate is excited about tackling technical challenges and contributing to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Implement observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Ensure effective cross-team communication and coordination throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Proficient in Go/Golang, Java, Python, and C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, data modeling, and optimization.
• Experience with scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ownership mindset with experience in agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
