We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that support positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with international product and engineering teams to manage a digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking. Our ideal candidate is eager to solve technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
• Design and implement reliable systems in a microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Enforce observability with tools like logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ownership of projects and proactive problem-solving.
• Experience with agile methodologies.
• Knowledge of message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI or GitHub Actions.
