We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will play a central role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help users maintain positive cash availability.

You will work with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
• Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Enforce observability best practices with logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages like Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Strong experience with RESTful APIs, SQL and NoSQL databases, and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
• Ownership of projects with minimal supervision.
• Experience with agile methodologies and message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Flink.
• Release management and CI/CD experience.
