We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with experience in Golang.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a key role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help maintain positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet that enables seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability through logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability opportunities.
9. Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++.
4. Strong expertise in RESTful API design and development.
5. Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
6. Experience building reliable, scalable applications and microservices.
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
8. Strong ownership and proactive problem-solving skills.
9. Experience with agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
10. Proficiency with message queues like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
11. Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
