Senior Back-End Software Engineer (Node.Js)

We are seeking a full-time, remote Senior Back-End Software Engineer with 7+ years of experience in back-end development and a strong expertise in Node.js to join our U.S. client’s engineering team. You will collaborate closely with product stakeholders to develop industry-leading products.

Responsibilities

1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deploy new applications and features
2. Develop and improve advanced applications using Node.js
3. Create, publish, and consume data via clean API endpoints
4. Estimate efforts for features, bugs, upgrades, and new projects
5. Document applications and custom frameworks clearly and concisely
6. Write automated unit and integration tests to support continuous delivery
7. Explore and implement new technologies to enhance development efficiency
8. Support team communication and provide constructive feedback during code reviews
9. Align with the client’s mission to improve pet care

Required Experience

1. Excellent English communication and interpersonal skills
2. 7+ years of experience working on consumer-facing (B2C or B2B), high-volume software products
3. At least 4 years of experience with Node.js and TypeScript (bonus)
4. Experience with object-oriented programming patterns
5. Knowledge of scaling and performance optimization
6. Experience with PostgreSQL or other database systems
7. Strong execution mindset balancing risks, costs, and timelines
8. Proven track record of delivering production-ready applications on time
9. Experience with creating and consuming APIs, preferably GraphQL
10. Familiarity with AWS cloud services (server setup is a bonus)
11. Team player eager to learn and mentor others
12. Experience in dynamic startup environments
13. Collaborative, proactive, goal-oriented, trustworthy, and transparent

Desired Experience

1. University degree or relevant industry experience, ideally in a technical or engineering field
2. Experience with DynamoDB and Elasticsearch
