Overview

The Sales Enablement & Operations (SE&O) team plays an essential role in translating Microsoft’s Commercial Strategy into a local execution plan and driving operational excellence to achieve the greatest results possible. Our team drives cross-Region, cross-Area, and cross-Subsidiary insight and execution excellence, bringing strategy and priorities to life by accelerating the pace of transformation and enabling Microsoft to deliver business impact at scale. In this role, you will specialize in the needs and opportunities within one of Microsoft’s critical US Geographies.

Microsoft Azure is the engine of our transformation. The Segment Go-to-Market (GTM) Product Marketing Manager role is critical to driving customer adoption at scale, driven by deep industry domain knowledge, product expertise, and partnerships with sales, marketing, operations, and sales excellence.

We’re looking for a highly driven, motivated marketing individual to join our GTM team. This role requires someone who acts as a thought leader, tracks success criteria and performance metrics, works with emergent technology, creates alignment and action across teams, simplifies complex concepts, and thrives on big challenges.

Responsibilities
  1. Product Advocacy: Acts as a primary spokesperson and product evangelist for the business, leveraging product, industry, market, and competitive knowledge, as well as technical expertise, to develop localized strategies, position value propositions, and tailor messaging for internal and external audiences. Provides guidance to sales and shares expertise to guide partners.
  2. Business Management: Builds and drives business strategy, tracks efficacy of plans, and accepts accountability for KPIs. Leads strategic planning, aligns stakeholders, and uses data-driven insights to impact marketing and business decisions. Shares insights about performance and trends, and adapts information based on changing priorities.
  3. Go-to-Market (GTM) Strategy, Planning, and Delivery: Develops and executes GTM plans across sales, marketing, consulting, customer success, and partner functions. Collaborates with partners to support program execution, defines KPIs, and manages growth strategies to increase market share.
  4. Field Enablement: Partners with sales to develop and land sales programs, providing thought leadership and coaching. Ensures alignment with business results and activates the partner ecosystem to achieve results.
  5. Business Development: Supports white-space growth opportunities, leveraging market knowledge and building stakeholder relationships to implement strategies that increase market share.
  6. Specialty Responsibilities: Coordinates between engineering, sales, and product teams for hardware or capacity needs, and manages transitions between products.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in marketing strategy, business planning, sales enablement, or related fields.
  • 5+ years managing and expanding a product/solution portfolio, driving demand and pipeline in a complex organization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience working to remove blockers and accelerate sales pipelines.
  • Outstanding communication skills at all levels, including C-level audiences.
  • Understanding of Microsoft Cloud or other public cloud platforms, including IaaS and PaaS, and cloud migration and modernization.
  • Knowledge of enterprise software solutions and cloud infrastructure competitors like AWS and GCP.
  • Understanding of partner ecosystems and leveraging partner solutions to meet customer needs.
