Job description

Do you want to do work that matters, alongside supportive leaders who will help you grow faster than you ever thought possible? Are you a creative problem-solver who is energized by challenges? You've come to the right place.

YOUR IMPACT

You will build a finance function from the ground up, work directly with the CFO and senior leaders, and become an expert in topics that few finance professionals get to handle, such as multi-country intercompany billing and foreign tax credits. You will be the technical backbone of QuantumBlack Studio's finance function in Brazil, making sure our numbers close, reconcile and turn into insight that leadership can act on. You will work hands-on to lead the monthly close together with our shared services teams, reviewing and approving the reconciliations, provisions, tax calculations and filings prepared by the team. You will own bank reconciliations, payroll liability reconciliations, and the reconciliation of intercompany revenue and collections by country, including the control of taxes withheld abroad. You will review and sign our statutory bookkeeping filings, support the external audit, and help map tax risks and plan for upcoming changes in Brazilian tax law. You will also own financial planning and analysis: the annual budget, quarterly reforecasts, the hours and revenue forecast, operational KPIs, project profitability, and the cash forecast and capital planning. Over time, you will take ownership of the monthly management commentary and of the reporting package for leadership and the Board. You will review cost allocations and intercompany pricing every month, maintain our accounting and tax policies, approval matrix and system access reviews, and coach an accounting intern who works alongside you. Your work will give leadership confidence in the numbers and a clear view of where the business is heading. You will also lead the development of an AI agent to automate recurring finance activities, helping shape how a modern finance function works. At QuantumBlack Studio, you'll have direct access to senior leaders eager to hear your perspective, the chance to shape a function as it is being built, and the resources to become a leading expert in your field. Supported by a collaborative team, you'll make a lasting impact on how the business is run.

YOUR GROWTH

You are someone who thrives in a high-performance environment, bringing a growth mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to tackle meaningful challenges that have a real impact. In return for your drive, determination, and curiosity, we'll provide the resources, mentorship, and opportunities to help you quickly broaden your expertise, grow into a well-rounded professional, and contribute to work that truly makes a difference.
When you join us, you will have:

  • Continuous learning: Our learning and apprenticeship culture, backed by structured programs, is all about helping you grow while creating an environment where feedback is clear, actionable, and focused on your development. The real magic happens when you take the input from others to heart and embrace the fast-paced learning experience, owning your journey.
  • A voice that matters: From day one, we value your ideas and contributions. You'll make a tangible impact by offering innovative ideas and practical solutions, all while upholding our unwavering commitment to ethics and integrity. We not only encourage diverse perspectives, but they are critical in driving us toward the best possible outcomes.
  • Global community: With colleagues across 65+ countries and over 100 different nationalities, our firm’s diversity fuels creativity and helps us come up with the best solutions. Plus, you'll have the opportunity to learn from exceptional colleagues with diverse backgrounds and experiences.
  • Exceptional benefits: On top of a competitive salary (based on your location, experience, and skills), we provide a comprehensive benefits package to enable holistic well-being for you and your family.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, with active registration at the Regional Accounting Council (CRC)
  • Years of relevant professional experience, ideally including experience at a Big Four firm
  • Hands-on command of Brazilian GAAP and IFRS, particularly revenue recognition (CPC 47 / IFRS 15) and provisions (CPC 25 / IAS 37); knowledge of US GAAP is a plus
  • Demonstrated track record leading month-end close and balance sheet reconciliations, including intercompany and foreign currency transactions
  • Working knowledge of Brazilian taxation of services under Lucro Real (PIS/COFINS, ISS, monthly IRPJ/CSLL estimates and withholding taxes), enough to review the team’s tax work; exposure to foreign tax credits, transfer pricing or cost-sharing agreements is a plus
  • Experience with budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning, with advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with SAP or a similar ERP, and with Power BI, SQL or Python, is a plus
  • Experience structuring or rebuilding a finance function (for example in a carve-out or a start-up) is a plus, as is an interest in using AI to automate finance work
  • Professional skepticism and sound judgment: you question numbers that don't add up and can tell an expected variance from a real issue
  • Exceptional time management to meet your responsibilities, including statutory deadlines, in a complex and largely autonomous work environment
  • Business level language skills, both verbal and written, in English and Portuguese, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels
