Overview

Senior Agency Professional; Finance & Accounting supports data analysis related to compliance and commissions for Humana’s external producers. The role involves handling moderately to highly complex issues, requiring deep evaluation of variable factors. Assignments are diverse and often demand independent judgment to determine the best course of action.

The Senior Agency Professional; Finance & Accounting provides support for handling and analyzing data pertaining to the compliance and commissions of Humana external producers. Work assignments involve moderately complex to complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires in-depth evaluation of variable factors. The work is varied and frequently requires interpretation and independent determination of appropriate courses of action. The following responsibilities illustrate the scope of the role:

Responsibilities
  • Engage with producers and the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services/Department of Insurance regulations related to missing or incomplete commissions.
  • Perform audits of commission payments, including system adjustments tied to transaction codes to correctly entries in the general ledger.
  • Analyze and interpret CMS and Department of Insurance regulations to establish required appointment fees for producers to ensure compliance during solicitation and selling of products.
  • Make decisions regarding own work methods, occasionally in ambiguous situations, with minimal direction.
  • Research and analyze financial information to support internal and external audit activity.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of issues related to commission payments across Humana’s blocks of business.
  • Set up contracts in systems promptly, audit them for accuracy, and ensure proper payment over time.
  • Multitask by organizing workload and managing multiple projects.
  • Perform analysis with emphasis on control and prevention.
  • Assist in problem-solving and process improvement activities.
  • Exercise independent judgment on complex issues related to job duties with minimal supervision.
  • Make decisions on moderately to complex issues regarding technical approaches for project components.
  • Provide financial support for analyzing variances from budget for Agency Management reporting.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 5 or more years of financial analysis and/or reporting experience
  • Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access
  • Strong attention to detail and investigative skills related to audits of commission payments and associated system adjustments
  • Experience working with large data sets
  • Ability to collaborate with peers to review needs and potential solutions
  • Passion for contributing to an organization focused on continuous improvement of consumer experience and information technology
  • Growth mindset regarding new technologies and processes
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in business administration or related field
  • Experience with insurance and healthcare data
  • Experience working across multiple systems concurrently
  • Knowledge of SQL, VBA and Power BI

Travel: Although this is a remote position, occasional travel to Humana offices for training or meetings may be required.

Schedule

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Pay Range

$71,100 - $97,800 per year. This range reflects a good faith estimate of starting base pay for full-time employment at posting time. Pay may vary based on geographic location and demonstrated job-related skills, knowledge, experience, and education. Eligible for a bonus incentive plan based on company and/or individual performance.
