Qualificações

Job Title: Senior Accountant

Location: Remote/potential hybrid schedule Brazil HQ address - Nações Unidas 12901 - São Paulo - SP

Report To: Chief Operating Officer

Amparo Insurance is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team to accommodate our remarkable growth!

Job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Manage the daily activities of the accounting department, including cash management, posting and reconciliation of customer payments, managing the whole AP cycle on Bill.com as well as processing expense reimbursements and managing credit card transactions on the expense management software Divvy.
  • Perform monthly closing activities, including analysis of accounts, preparation of journal entries, maintaining depreciation and amortization schedules, accruals as well as payroll and health care benefits reconciliations.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports (financial statements, aging report) and supporting analytics for management and ensure the financial records are maintained in compliance with US GAAP and with internal policies and procedures.
  • Provide management with financial data and forecasting vital to the decision-making process.
  • Work directly with external CPA firm for the annual financial statement audit.
  • Evaluate, develop, and improve department controls, systems, and procedures that increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, and providing ongoing training.
  • Assist with CEO for new companies’ registration and annual reports filings.
  • Support in special projects as requested.
  • Demonstrate a self-starter mentality with the ability to take initiative and drive tasks forward independently.
  • Proactively identify opportunities, challenges, and solutions without waiting for direction.
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision and maintain accountability for deliverables.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when juggling multiple priorities.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal stakeholders.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of Accounting experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting.
  • Thorough understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite including strong Word, Outlook, and Excel skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
  • Previous experience with QuickBooks and Bill.com is a huge plus.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks and work under strict deadlines with speed and accuracy. Ability to prioritize and plan work to meet time-based deliverables.
