Senior Scientist, R&D Analytical

Description:

Kenvue is hiring a Senior Scientist, R&D Analytical based in São José dos Campos, Brazil. This role involves leading the strategy and execution of analytical deliverables for North America Self Care (OTC) projects, including defining strategies, planning, and resource management. The individual will also prepare and review technical documents in compliance with SOPs and regulatory standards. Reporting to the Manager of R&D Analytical, this position plays a key role in supporting product development and lifecycle management through analytical expertise.

What you will do

The Senior Scientist will perform chemical analyses, guide staff, conduct research, and develop proposals to meet exploratory objectives in product discovery. Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading analytical research projects supporting new product launches and pipeline development in compliance with FDA and Health Canada regulations.
2. Validating and transferring analytical methods for product development and lifecycle management.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance scientific efforts.
4. Providing expertise in analytical instrumentation and data analysis.
5. Staying updated on industry trends to foster innovation.
6. Leading chemical analyses to support discovery objectives.
7. Guiding staff on analytical evaluations and related projects.
8. Communicating project strategies and progress effectively within the organization and globally.
9. Documenting technical protocols and reports for product registration and compliance.
10. Supporting investigations related to validation, transfer, and stability studies.
11. Leveraging global analytical knowledge and processes.
12. Identifying opportunities for process and timeline improvements.
13. Escalating analytical issues appropriately.

Qualifications

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, chemical engineering, or pharmaceutical chemistry.
• Minimum 3 years in pharmaceutical R&D Analytical.
• Strong background in HPLC, UPLC, GC, dissolution, and other techniques; experience with advanced chemistry is a plus.
• Experience with method validation and transfer.
• Knowledge of stability studies.
• Understanding of analytical and physical testing.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Preferred: Experience with statistical analysis of analytical data.
• Mandatory: Knowledge of regulations on method development & validation for drug products/substances.
• Preferred: Technical writing and project management skills.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Advanced English proficiency.

Desired:

• Experience in analytical chemistry supporting new product development in consumer health.
• Strong collaboration skills.
• Experience with Empower chromatography data system, ELN, and LIMS.
• Intermediate or higher Spanish skills are a plus.
