Position Overview

Pick up and delivery of products to customers or STTC locations via a truck. The Route Driver must be committed to delivering prompt, courteous, and professional service to our customers and stores.

Essential Job Functions (include the following; other duties may be assigned):

1. Drive a box truck or tractor trailer to deliver tires and/or wheels to a customer’s place of business or another STTC location.
2. Load and unload tires and wheels.
3. Ensure accuracy on delivery invoices.
4. Issue or obtain customer signatures on invoices/receipts for pickup or delivery.
5. Correctly fill out and attach tags or labels to tires. Ensure all retread tires have a tag or label on them before loading.
6. Maintain cleanliness of the inside and outside of the truck.
7. Complete daily mileage and pickup reports and submit them daily.
8. Perform daily routine maintenance on the truck to ensure safety.
9. Perform all tasks safely and efficiently. Use all provided safety equipment (seat belts), communicate equipment needs, report mechanical problems, and report unsafe actions or abnormal situations to the Branch Manager.
10. Ensure all products leave with proper paperwork. Report any safety rule violations or policy/procedure violations to the Manager.
11. Perform miscellaneous job duties as needed to ensure prompt service to customers.
12. Ensure that VMR, driver’s logs, and pre/post trip truck inspections are completed and submitted weekly.

Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Requirements

• Education and/or experience: 1 year or more related work experience.
• BILINGUAL IN SPANISH
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively with customers or employees of STTC.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in writing, oral, or diagram form.
• Basic computer skills; training will be provided as needed.
• Valid Driver’s License and CDL License with class A or B.

Qualifications

• Must have a clean driving record.
• Forklift certification (test provided by STTC).

Equipment

• Capable of operating lift gates, box trucks or tractor trailers, forklifts, and office equipment.

Dress code

Uniforms are provided by Service Tire Truck Centers at a reasonable cost per company policy. Uniforms must remain clean and free from holes or tears. Present a well-groomed and professional appearance to STTC customers.
