Qualificações

  • Minimum 2 years leadership experience in a similar environment.

Position: Risk Manager (Maternity Coverage)

Classification: Full Time 1 Year Term

Start Date: August 11th, 2025

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Reporting to the General Manager, the Risk Manager will oversee the organizations comprehensive risk management program, assessing and identifying risks that could impede the reputation, safety, or financial success of the organization.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

– This position has one direct report; the Safety Coordinator
– Convenes and holds accountable the members of the Joint Health & Safety Committee (JHSC) as the Employer Co-Chair
– Manages and oversees the Occupational Health & Safety program, including audits, creating & leading training, risk assessments, hazard mitigation & prevention, conducting incident & injury investigations, and more
– Conducts risk assessments, collecting and analyzing documentation, statistics, reports, and market trends and ensures that the companies Risk Register is up to date.
– Establishes policies and procedures to identify and address risks in the organizations services and departments.
– Reviews and assesses risk management policies and protocols; makes recommendations and implements modifications and improvements.
– Recommends and implements risk management solutions such as insurance, safety and security policies, business continuity plans, or recovery measures.
– Drafts and presents risk reports and proposals to executive leadership and senior staff.
– Establishes and implements standard operating procedures, emergency preparedness manuals and other supporting tools as required.
– Liaises with WorkSafeBC and manages WCB claims
– Manages the Exclusion of Liability program and other measures pertaining to the Occupiers Liability Act
– Maintains current knowledge of Workers Compensation Act and OHS Regulation and ensures the Sea to Sky Gondola is compliant
– Expected to participate in the Senior Leadership Team meetings on a regular basis providing updates on actions arising from the JHSC and overall safety
– Performs other duties as directed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

– Thorough understanding of policies and best practices of risk management.
– Strong working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
– Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
– Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
– Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software to prepare reports and policies.

Education and Experience:

– Formal education or certification in risk management, health & safety or related field, preferred
– At least 2 years leadership experience in a similar work environment, or public sector
– Prior experience in a Health & Safety role in resort operations or tourism industry, preferred.
– Practical experience with safety management systems, injury management and emergency response
– Comprehensive understanding of BC Workers Compensation Act, OHS Regulation, Occupiers Liability Act and the ability to locate key information when needed
– Prior experience leading employee committees, preferably a Joint Health & Safety Committee
– Valid BC driver’s license

Physical Requirements:

– Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
– Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
