This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension, requiring 15 hours/week. No C2C engagements or visa sponsorship/transfer available.

Job Description

We seek a dynamic, organized Research Science Community Manager to liaise between researchers testing a data access tool and Reddit’s Product team. Responsibilities include facilitating collaboration, supporting researchers, and communicating feedback to improve the tool. This role is part-time, contract-based, with potential for extension.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as the main contact point for beta testers and the Reddit Product team.
• Provide technical support, including onboarding, debugging SQL queries, and explaining data schemas.
• Communicate researcher feedback and pain points to the Product Team.
• Advocate for researcher needs while aligning with product objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

• 2+ years in research coordination, stakeholder relations, or program management.
• Proficiency with SQL and BigQuery.
• Experience managing access to research tools.
• Experience working with academic researchers or volunteer organizations.
• Excellent communication skills, able to explain complex topics.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, capable of managing multiple projects.
• Familiar with tools like Confluence, JIRA, Slack, Google Workspace; experience with Zendesk and Reddit is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in trust & safety, content moderation, or platform integrity research.
• Scripting skills (Python, Javascript, etc.).
• Knowledge of legal/ethical online research frameworks.
• Experience in tech, research, or nonprofit sectors.

Daily Activities

• Respond to beta tester inquiries and provide support.
• Draft and review technical documentation and onboarding materials.
• Host office hours for live support and feedback collection.
• Manage support channels like Zendesk, Discord, Reddit.
• Create/remove researcher accounts.
• Participate in cross-functional meetings with legal, product, and policy teams.

Success Metrics

• Researcher engagement and satisfaction, measured by response times and issue resolution.
• Community management quality, meeting or exceeding Reddit standards.

Interview Process

Initial screening via AI Interviewer on Braintrust, designed to assess communication, enthusiasm, and fit. Expect 4-5 questions, lasting up to 15 minutes.
