Role Synopsis

We are seeking a RAD (Rapid Application Development) Developer to join our North American RAD & Innovation team. Our team builds applications and tools using a broad array of technologies in support of the gas and power trading Americas (GPTA) teams in North America. RAD developers within the team deliver fast, custom, high business value solutions to the business using agile tools and technologies. They are self-directed high performers with a commitment to detail, quality, and customer service. This role works closely with business users across different functions and locations to understand and clarify requirements, undertake analysis of systems, business processes, data, support existing tools, and implement new technical solutions.

Responsibilities

This team builds solutions for all areas of GPTA from trading through to settlement and other support functions. They have a great deal of interaction with Business Users and other Technology teams to develop and support existing tools. All members of the team have business-facing roles that require a mix of technical, business, and soft skills.

• Develop complex solutions that may be stand-alone or incorporate other tools and information sources.
• Work with Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, Excel, VBA, SQL, some Python, .NET, Web-Scraping, and GitHub Copilot.
• Articulate technical knowledge and how it translates to practical solutions to stakeholders (in person or virtually).

Required Qualifications

• Strong Power Platform (Power Apps) development experience
• Extensive experience with Excel, VBA, Web scraping, and Windows service-based tools
• Strong analysis, design and development background to build sophisticated solutions using a combination of tools
• Exceptional communication skills and comfort working independently with people at various organizational levels
• Ability to manage time, prioritize multiple projects, and switch tasks quickly
• Excellent teamwork skills with local and distributed teams, often collaborating with non-technical users
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical fields

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multiple development environments and languages, including SQL, VBA, C#, and GitHub Copilot
• Experience in Energy Industry, specifically Energy Trading
• Business analysis, including business process analysis and solution design
• Experience with AWS Cloud Services (EC2, S3, Lambda, IAM, etc.)
• Relational database experience
• Agile/Scrum project experience
• Familiarity with Generative AI technologies and use cases in enterprise applications
