Job summary

Hitachi Energy Brasil Ltda. in Blumenau, Brazil, is seeking an R&D Mechanical Engineer to join the global Technology organization of the Transformer Business Unit.

You will contribute to projects involving simulations (thermal or mechanical) for distribution transformers, based in Blumenau. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in mechanical engineering, 5+ years in R&D/engineering or academia, CAD experience (CREO, SolidWorks, SolidEdge) and experience with numerical simulations (Ansys).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience in R&D, engineering or university research.
• Proficiency in CAD modelling software CREO, SolidWorks, SolidEdge.
• Experience with advanced numerical simulations (mechanical) and tools like ANSYS.
• Fluent in English is required.

As R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will be part of the global Technology organization of Business Unit Transformer. As member of our R&D team located in Blumenau (Brazil), you will contribute to the execution of projects involving diverse simulation types in distribution transformers (thermal or mechanical)

• Propose and develop new technologies, products, and processes for both core and shell type transformers.
• Maintain existing and developing new technical standards and design tools for transformers.
• Transfer your knowledge and findings by elaborating reports, specifications and/or participating in educational programs.
• Assess production processes and proactively identify gaps and areas of improvement.
• Support factories troubleshooting in your domain of expertise.
• Develop, manage and expand relationships with stakeholders, internal functions, Corporate Research Centers and external relevant parties (e.g. customers, universities). Providing proposals for possible partnerships.

Your Background:

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• We are looking for Mechanical Engineering.
• More than 5 years of experience, either in R&D projects, engineering or University research.
• Knowledge in CAD modelling software (CREO, Solidworks, Solidedge)
• Experience with advanced numerical simulations (mechanical simulations), proficiency in use of commercial simulations tools (e.g. Ansys, CREO) and implementation of own solutions shall be well valued.
• Fluency in English required.
