Positions Summary
- Demonstrates creativity, foresight, and mature engineering judgment in anticipating and solving engineering problems during the development and application of new and improved products and processes.
- Establishes best practices that incorporate Reliability, Health, Safety, and Environment concepts to guide others in analysis and design.
- Evaluates proposed theoretical results to meet design requirements.
- Serves as a technical expert to other employees to solve complex system equations and develops custom equations to simplify complex problems using advanced engineering tools.
- Coaches, develops, and reviews work from other employees as a technical expert.
- Possesses excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams.
- Contributes significantly to Halliburton’s Intellectual Property portfolio by delivering innovative and commercially successful solutions.
- Works across multiple teams located in different countries (Brazil, US, Singapore, India).
- Collaborates closely with the Electrical Engineering team, Systems Engineer, and the Project Manager at the Halliburton Technology Center in Brazil (HBTC).
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a similar discipline.
- A master's or doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline is preferred.
- 10+ years of experience in R&D is preferred.
- Experience with multidisciplinary teams in different locations/countries.
- Experience designing complex systems solutions across multiple engineering disciplines for Oil & Gas, mining, and aerospace industries.
- Experience designing solutions for subsea applications and well control involving multiple disciplines.
- Experience designing solutions for well intervention applications involving multiple disciplines.
- Experience with equipment deployments on vessels.
- Advanced knowledge in electronic circuit design, circuit simulators (LTSPICE, PSPICE), and math tools (Matlab, MathCAD) for embedded systems in harsh environments (O&G, mining, aerospace).
- Ability to guide and mentor junior engineers.
- Knowledge and participation in patent processes.
- Ability to prepare and deliver project status reports to stakeholders.
- Experience defining requirements and reviewing proposals from third-party vendors and manufacturers.
- Knowledge of vessel structures and processes.
- Advanced experience in Risk Assessment, FMEA, and other reliability tools.
- Knowledge and experience with oil field equipment.
