Job Description
I. Position Overview:
A Britt Aero Quality Engineer will interpret customer requirements and provide quality plans, manufacturing direction, and acceptability criteria to produce conforming parts. Quality Engineers act as a liaison between Britt Aero customers and the manufacturing floor, communicating customer expectations throughout all stages of manufacturing.
II. Responsibilities:
- Decipher pertinent details and customer requirements from purchase orders, specifications, and drawings, to create manufacturing verification and inspection plans.
- Work closely with Process Engineers to ensure all customer requirements are established during the manufacturing plan creation.
- Schedule and manage customer source inspection for product release, including but not limited to, the creation of release documentation as necessary.
- Identify Root Cause and implement Corrective Actions during non-conforming product investigations, including customer-initiated investigations.
- Responsible for stopping and correcting quality problems, including halting production activities as necessary.
- Recommend process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.
III. Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. An Associate's degree with 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience, or 10+ years of industry experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, are also considered.
- Experience in the Aerospace Manufacturing Industry is required, including hands-on experience such as machining, programming, inspection, troubleshooting, project management, and auditing.
- Excellent communication skills with both customers and team members are essential.
- Strong planning and organization skills are required.
- Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
