Responsible for the management of the purchasing team of direct materials in the automotive sector, ensuring the efficient supply of components. It acts as a facilitator between global suppliers and internal teams to ensure competitiveness, innovation, technical compliance and supply chain sustainability. Will be responsible for Supplier quality, Purchasing controlling, direct material management short and long term, support new developments. Must be capable to handle environment with very high complexity and high resilience to pressure. Budget 170M$USD
Responsabilities:
- Define and execute sourcing strategies for categories of direct automotive materials, aligned with the company's global plan;
- Manage the relationship with Tier 1 and Tier 2 suppliers, ensuring performance in quality, cost, delivery and technological innovation (QCDI);
- Conduct technical and commercial negotiations, ensuring long-term competitive contracts;
- Work together with Engineering, Quality, Logistics and Projects to ensure the time-to-market of product launches and changes;
- Mitigate risks in the supply chain (disruptions, obsolescence, geopolitical crises, etc.);
- Constantly seek opportunities to reduce costs and increase efficiency, including Design-to-Cost and Make-or-Buy initiatives;
- Manage the financial results of the area, supporting and implementing projects with the purpose of reducing operating costs, in order to meet goals foreseen in the company's budget.
- Lead supplier audits, technical/commercial feasibility analyses and approvals of new partners;
- Manage and monitor performance indicators (KPIs) and effectively ensure the delivery of strategic procurement objectives;
- Develop and lead cross-functional teams, promoting a culture of high performance, compliance and innovation in accordance with the company's values.
- Manage the human resources allocated in their area, evaluating and/or analyzing the results of individual performance, defining and guiding training and professional development actions, requesting functional and salary changes, keeping them informed about the company's policies, rules and regulations, aiming at integration and organization and appreciation of personnel.
- Support the implementation of new projects within the established levels of quality, training, productivity, adherence and operational costs, participating in their planning and development.
- Participate in the strategic planning of the Unit and ensure the execution of the established actions.
- Guide employees to follow corporate procedures and environmental and safety management systems, through Work Instructions.
- Build a good work environment, aiming at improving the indexes related to the climate survey, through management tools.
- Manage daily requirements to support plant smooth operations and no impact on customers such as quality, delivery, commercial , development among others.
- Propose modifications in the organizational and functional structures of the section, due to the expansion, reduction or rationalization of the area's activities and/or incorporation of new technologies, studying the changes together with other internal areas, preparing reports and submitting them to superior appreciation, in order to adapt them to the company's needs.
Requirements:
Education: Complete higher education in Engineering, Administration, Foreign Trade or related areas
Desirable Degree of Education: Postgraduate
Other languages are a differential (e.g., Spanish);
Experience: Over 10 years in the activities of the position.
Consolidated experience in purchasing direct materials in the automotive sector (OEMs or systemists);
Other Knowledge:
- Mastery of Strategic Sourcing processes, international negotiation and contract management;
- Technical knowledge of automotive components and their value chains;
- Familiarity with ERP systems (preferably QAD/SAP), cost analysis tools and Lean methodologies;
- Strategic, analytical, resilient profile, with excellent communication and decision-making skills under pressure.
