Descrição da oferta de emprego

AST SpaceMobile is building the first and only global cellular broadband network in space to operate directly with standard, unmodified mobile devices based on our extensive IP and patent portfolio and designed for both commercial and government applications. Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.

Position Overview

We are seeking a Project Manager to support the development of gateway ground infrastructure across the Americas. This role manages gateway site development from the early site-acquisition phase through contract award, infrastructure implementation, and formal handover to the internal delivery team, working closely with hosting partners, infrastructure vendors, local authorities, and cross-functional internal teams. This is a highly field-oriented position requiring frequent travel and regular on-site inspections throughout the assigned region.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the identification, evaluation, and acquisition of gateway sites across the assigned region, including site surveys to assess technical, operational, regulatory, and infrastructure suitability.
  • Lead commercial and technical discussions with hosting partners, landowners, and infrastructure vendors, maintaining strong working relationships throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage regional RFP processes, including requirements development, bidder coordination, proposal evaluation, and support for contract negotiations.
  • Conduct vendor due diligence and support the qualification, shortlisting, and selection of hosting and infrastructure partners.
  • Manage zoning, planning, environmental, construction, and other permitting activities, representing the company in discussions with municipalities, regulators, and utilities.
  • Oversee gateway infrastructure implementation from contract award through completion and handover to the internal delivery team.
  • Coordinate project schedules, milestones, budgets, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across multiple sites and vendors.
  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with contractual, technical, quality, safety, and schedule requirements, including frequent site inspections to verify progress and workmanship.
  • Identify implementation risks and delays early, and lead the development of mitigation and recovery plans.
  • Provide regular, accurate project reporting to management and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain complete and properly organized project documentation, including permits, acceptance records, and handover packages.
Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or an equivalent field required; advanced degree or professional licensure preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5–8 years of experience in project management related to infrastructure or industrial facilities.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Background in infrastructure development, telecommunications, satellite communications, data centers, utilities, construction, or a related technical field.
  • Proven experience managing complex infrastructure projects involving multiple vendors and stakeholders.
  • Practical experience with site acquisition, site surveys, permitting, vendor selection, and construction or infrastructure implementation.
  • Experience managing competitive procurement or RFP processes.
  • Strong understanding of project planning, risk management, contract administration, and vendor management.
  • Ability to engage effectively with local authorities, utilities, property owners, engineering firms, and construction contractors.
  • Strong commercial judgment, including the ability to assess vendor capability, financial strength, and delivery risk.
  • Ability to work independently across different countries, cultures, and time zones.
  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently throughout the assigned region.
  • Fluency in English; additional regional languages are a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills within cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical capabilities.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced, multi-project environment.
  • Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of designs and documentation.
Technology Stack
  • Proficiency with project management, scheduling, and progress-tracking tools.
  • Working knowledge of GIS and geospatial mapping software.
  • Experience with photogrammetry, surveying, or site-assessment tools (e.g., Theodolite or comparable software).
  • Drone piloting experience; relevant certification or license preferred.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
  • Ability to travel frequently and conduct on-site visits under varied field conditions.
