Project Manager

This position is hybrid model in our São Bernardo do Campo unit.

Position Summary

Reporting directly to the Domain Director and having a matrix report to the PMO Manager, the mission is to coordinate and lead medium-sized programs and projects of medium to high complexity, in a clear and objective manner, seeking to ensure that the products/services are delivered in accordance with the requirements of the Client and the Company, aligned with the expected cost, schedule, and performance of the Company, taking into account the satisfaction of both internal and external clients, until the conclusion of the contract and the activities related to its formal completion.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Representing the company to Clients and partner companies in the project;
  • Managing customer relations (information, supply, revisions, contract amendments, complaints, etc.), making sure that all contractual requirements are met in order to ensure customer satisfaction;
  • Ensuring that the Thales, Chorus management system, which includes the good practices, instructions and activities described in process 5.2 PRJ - Manage Project, is put into practice during the execution of the project;
  • Evaluating the main aspects of the project, determining the main objectives to be achieved, organizing the project planning (schedule, dashboard, forecast, etc.) and presenting it during the project kick-off meeting (Launch Review - ref. process 5.2 PRJ - Manage Project);
  • Managing cross-functional projects by identifying critical points, risks, strategy and prioritizing team efforts as necessary;
  • Organizing the project team and resources by identifying necessary knowledge and skills;
  • Working closely with functional management to determine budget requirements and resource needs for projects;
  • Executing project deliverables;
  • Holding regular project monitoring meetings, with the participation of representatives from the company's operational areas (Core Team); influencing the work of the team members and being the facilitator responsible for the progress of the group (project/program team);
  • Identifying, during the execution of the project, possible deviations that could affect the delivery schedule, costs, increase or decrease in the scope of supply, technical deviations (analyzing together with Engineering), for which appropriate corrective measures must be taken by the areas involved under the coordination of the Project Manager;
  • Being responsible for complex decisions and practical, objective action;
  • Defining problems/needs and solutions to problems of substantial impact. Responsible for resolving problems;
  • Effectively resolving project conflicts by negotiating with those involved to reach an agreed resolution;
  • Communicating scope change requests, problems and meeting minutes to those involved in the project;
  • Managing and tracking project progress against the project plan, financial reporting, etc.;
  • Preparing documentation relating to project management, including status reporting, and keeping it organized in the project folder;
  • Establishing and maintaining relationships with project members, stakeholders and other members who directly affect the projects under their coordination;
  • Collaborating with project team members to identify risks and carry out mitigation activities;
  • Ensuring the monitoring, analysis and management of risks/opportunities as well as the cost, revenue and margin of the projects he coordinates, as well as updating the dashboards and on-time delivery (OTD) indicators of the events of the projects under his coordination;
  • Participating in and presenting the status of the projects under his coordination at meetings related to project management activities in the company, such as PMO Review, Project Review, critical reviews (A2 / Critical Project Reviews), between different entities (Joint Project Reviews), Closure Review;
  • Recording the lessons learned at each project closure meeting (Closure Review), as well as ensuring that they are recorded in the relevant tool for dissemination among the different areas of the company;
  • Participating in initiatives within the organization related to Project Management, sharing experiences and knowledge with a view to improving the organization and competitiveness with a focus on continuous improvement;
  • Identifying new business opportunities within the scope of the program and informing the company's Commercial Department;
  • Providing feedback from project employees to their functional managers;

Minimum Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in Engineering, Business or other related courses;
  • Experience in managing medium-sized, medium to high complexity projects, acting as a Project Manager;
  • English proficiency;
  • Knowledge of the Office package;
  • Knowledge of planning tools: MS Project or others (Primavera);
  • Knowledge of project management methodology and its tools.
