Main responsibilities
Key competencies
- Growth mindset and proven record as a lifelong learner
- Creative problem-solver who prototypes, tests, and iterates quickly
- Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Apple’s Everyone Can Create toolset
- Working knowledge of Design Thinking (NN/g), Futures Thinking (IFTF), PBL (Buck Institute), and Reggio-inspired Progettazione, with the skill to adapt these in class
- Strong grasp of child and adolescent development to craft safe, inclusive environments
- Ability to coach learners and educators in Habits of Mind and Visible Thinking Routines
- Meticulous organization; able to juggle multiple prototypes, timelines, and documentation streams
What will you do
- Facilitate projects from ideation to exhibition, ensuring clear learning milestones.
- Maintain streamlined systems for introducing new materials, tools, and technologie.s
- Champion a maker culture of building, tinkering, and repairing across the community.
- Train learners to use maker-space tools safely and independently.
- Co-plan learning journeys with homeroom teachers and arts specialists.
- Build interdisciplinary experiences across physical and digital spaces.
- Document and display learners’ theories, drafts, and iterations (e-portfolios, showcases).
- Curate workshops, talks, and external partnerships that broaden perspectives.
- Shape Early Years and Lower School projects so their impact extends beyond our walls—connecting community partners, documenting for external audiences, and catalyzing real-world change.
- Engage in ongoing Action Research on emerging materials, techniques, and pedagogies; share insights and iterate practice with the team.
- Report project progress to the Principal and Project Coordinator through concise, data-rich updates.

- High learner and educator engagement scores in maker-led projects.
- Semester-on-semester growth in prototype output and showcase quality.
- Consistent, visible documentation of learner thinking and creative process.
- Projects demonstrate tangible influence outside the school—community exhibitions, published artifacts, external collaborations, or measurable social impact.
Requirements and skills
- Full professional proficiency in English and Portuguese (reading, writing, speaking, listening)
- 3+ years as a Lead/Reference Teacher or Specialist Teacher in an innovative or bilingual setting
- Bachelor’s or graduate degree in Design, Arts, Technology, Education, or a related field
Hands-on experience with Project-Based Learning (PBL), maker spaces, or Instructional Design
