Job purpose: The Project Analyst (Project Management) is responsible for the overall management, coordination, and implementation of environmental sustainability projects within UNDP Brazil's portfolio. This role ensures alignment with UNDP's strategic objectives, national environmental policies, and donor requirements. The incumbent will lead multidisciplinary teams and collaborate with various government institutions, civil society organizations, private sector partners, and local communities. The position involves coordinating technical, operational, and stakeholder engagement processes to ensure project success and alignment with UNDP standards and national priorities, contributing to integrated responses for complex development challenges and the achievement of SDGs.

Responsibilities: Manage the end-to-end implementation of assigned environmental sustainability projects, ensuring timely delivery, compliance with UNDP rules, and donor requirements. Lead project planning, including work plans, procurement, risk management, and monitoring, utilizing results-based management principles. Oversee financial management, budget execution, and reporting, ensuring efficient resource use and compliance with financial regulations. Provide strategic and technical guidance on environmental themes, ensuring alignment with national policies and international frameworks. Develop and implement technical approaches, ensuring project interventions contribute to environmental outcomes like emission reductions and biodiversity conservation. Build and strengthen strategic partnerships with government institutions, civil society, and other stakeholders. Coordinate capacity-building activities and knowledge management initiatives, documenting lessons learned and best practices.

Education: An advanced university degree (Master's or equivalent) in a relevant field is required. A first-level university degree with additional qualifying experience will also be considered. Fluency in Portuguese and English is essential.

Work experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience (with a Master's degree) or 4 years (with a Bachelor's degree) is required in managing complex programs and projects. Experience should include team coordination, financial oversight, donor reporting, and institutional coordination, with a focus on sustainable development and environmental areas.
