An educational institution in Brazil seeks a Learning Support Teacher to support students with special needs and those identified as gifted. The role involves collaboration with various educational professionals to meet students' learning and emotional needs, along with a strong requirement for fluency in both English and Portuguese. The ideal candidate possesses a Bachelor's degree in Education, preferably in Special Education, and has at least two years of experience in a school setting.

Qualificações

• Minimum of 2 years of recent experience working in a school.
• Recent and continual professional learning in education.
• Postgraduate degree in special education or specialized educational services.
• Recent and continual professional learning in this area, plus relationship-building.
• Two years of recent experience in a school setting.

Responsabilidades

• Provide support services to students with special education needs.
• Collaborate with the Learning Support Coordinator and other staff.
• Ensure learning and social/emotional needs of students are met.
• Report to the Learning Support Coordinator; in their absence, to the Director of Learning & Teaching.

The Learning Support Teacher will serve all students who require support services, including those with special education needs and those identified as gifted and talented. This position supports both remediation and extension, working closely with the Learning Support Coordinator, the counseling team, and the section principals to ensure learning and social/emotional needs are met. The Learning Support Teacher reports to the Learning Support Coordinator, in their absence, to the Director of Learning & Teaching.

Mandatory Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education (Special Education preferred)
• Fluent in English with fluency in Portuguese
• Postgraduate degree in special education or specialized educational services
• Recent and continual professional learning in this area, along with relationship-building
• Recent experience, at least two (2) years, working in a school

Working Hours: Full Time (40 hours)

• Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 7:50 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday from 7:50 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
