Job Purpose
As a Product Specialist your primary purpose is to serve as a subject matter expert on our product offerings. You will work closely with sales teams, customers, and internal stakeholders to provide technical expertise, support sales efforts, and drive product awareness and growth in the market.
Job Context
Operating within the Sales Department, the Product Specialist collaborates with technical sales, engineers and marketing to promote and sell our products to customers in various industries, including utilities, industrial, and commercial sectors.
Job Dimensions
Reports to: Sales Director
Collaborates with: Sales, Engineers, Marketing and Customers.
Key Accountabilities
- *Product Knowledge:*
- Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of our products, including features, specifications, applications and nationalization.
- Stay informed about industry trends, competitor products, and market dynamics related to our productrs.
- Troubleshoot and provide solutions to customers in coordination with factory, R&D and or product Group to solve issues and in some cases promote support of design changes
- *Sales Support:*
- Provide technical support to sales teams, assisting with customer inquiries, product demonstrations, and presentations.
- Collaborate with sales representatives to identify customer needs and recommend appropriate product solutions.
- Perform and support technical activities and related analyses associated for Lucy Electric bidding team at quote stage
- *Customer Engagement:*
- Engage directly with customers to understand their requirements, provide product recommendations, and address technical inquiries.
- Build strong relationships with key customers and serve as a trusted advisor on our solutions.
- *Product Training:*
- Develop and deliver product training sessions for sales teams, distributors, and customers to enhance product knowledge and sales capabilities with complex technical subjects to groups of technicians or engineers, tailoring the talk to the level of the audience
- Create training materials, presentations, and technical documentation as needed.
- *Market Analysis:*
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify opportunities for product expansion and growth.
- Monitor competitor products and market trends, providing insights and recommendations to inform product development and marketing strategies.
- *Collaboration:*
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, marketing, and operations, to support product development initiatives, new product launches, and promotional campaigns.
- Provide feedback from customers and sales teams to inform product roadmap and development priorities.
- Develop sales collateral, product datasheets, and technical documentation to support sales and marketing efforts.
Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, (Electrical Engineering, Power system preferred) is required with minimum 7 years of experience in technical product and marketing support
- Must have medium voltage switchgear applications experience with equipment operation/maintenance and some knowledge in protection & automation at major Brands such as SEL, Siemens, ABB and GE products, applications, and industry standards.
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to understand complex technical concepts and specifications.
