Discuss is rebuilding how design works with an AI-assisted, code-native process where prototypes are live code and feedback happens on real URLs. You will own end-to-end design work, framing problems, wireframing flows, and generating high-fidelity prototypes as code.

You will collaborate with product managers and engineers, contribute to the design system, and ensure accessibility and consistency across platforms, while working in a fast-paced, open environment.

Qualificações

• Approximately 4 years of product design experience.
• Strong fundamentals in interaction design, layout, information hierarchy, and visual craft.
• Excellent design judgment and the ability to raise quality without every decision being spelled out.
• Comfort with AI-assisted design tools and working in a convention-driven workflow.

Responsabilidades

• Own design work end to end across the pipeline, framing problems and wireframing flows.
• Generate high-fidelity prototypes as code (React, Tailwind) using AI tools and shared tokens.
• Wireframe in low fidelity first, cover all states and not just the happy path.
• Run feedback on live prototypes hosted on platforms like Vercel; triage comments and update specs.
• Contribute components and design tokens back to the shared design system (shadcn/Storybook).
• Work in the open with version control; specs and artifacts live in the repo and are reviewable as code.
• Design with accessible light/dark modes and WCAG considerations from the start.

About this role

We're rebuilding how design happens at Discuss: an AI-assisted, code-native process where prototypes are real running code, feedback happens on live URLs instead of static frames, and a shared component system keeps design and engineering from drifting apart.

We're looking for an AI Forward Product Designer who's excited to work this way, someone comfortable moving fast with AI tools while keeping a high bar for craft, structure, and accessibility.

You'll own design work end to end across the pipeline: framing the problem, wireframing the flows, generating high-fidelity prototypes as code, running feedback on live previews, and closing the loop into our component library.

How this role works

• You'll own solutions in your own area of the product, working closely with a product manager and engineers, and may float between teams as coverage is needed.
• You'll collaborate weekly with the design director and the other design ICs for team alignment and growth.

What you'll do

• Take features from problem to prototype. Help frame the problem and write lightweight specs, then move into wireframes and high-fidelity work.
• Generate high-fidelity, interactive prototypes as real code (React, shadcn, Tailwind) using AI tools like Claude Code/Design, working against our shared design tokens and components.
• Wireframe in low fidelity first, focusing on structure and flow before visual polish, covering every real state and not just the happy path.
• Run feedback on live prototypes hosted on Vercel. Gather comments, triage them, and fold decisions back into the work and the spec.
• Keep the design system honest. Contribute components and tokens back to our shared shadcn registry and its hosted component reference (Storybook), so what's designed matches what ships.
• Work in the open, in version control. Your specs, flows, wireframes, and prototypes live as files in the repo, reviewed like code.
• Design with light and dark mode and accessibility built in from the start, not bolted on.

What we're looking for

• Around 4 years of product design experience.
• Strong product design fundamentals: interaction design, layout, information hierarchy, and a good eye for visual craft.
• Strong taste and design judgment. You can tell what's working and what isn't, edit toward the better version, and raise the quality bar without needing every decision spelled out.
• Comfort with AI-assisted design tools and a willingness to work in a convention-driven way, where shared rules guide and review the work.
• Enough technical fluency to work in code-based prototypes. You don't need to be an engineer, but you should be comfortable reading and adjusting React and Tailwind, and working in a repo (Git, pull requests, markdown).
• Experience with component-based design systems and design tokens.
• Solid grasp of accessibility (WCAG basics, keyboard nav, contrast, semantics).
• Clear communication with product and engineering. You can write a tight spec and explain a design decision.

Nice to have

• Experience running or designing for usability tests.
• Familiarity with Figma as a fine-tuning and handoff tool (we use it selectively, not as our source of truth).
• Experience with Storybook, or documenting a design system for other teams to build against.
• Exposure to MCP-based or other shared-system tooling across multiple products or teams.

How is success measured in this role

• Speed from wireframe approved to stakeholder sign-off. You help shrink that gap.
• Handoff fidelity. The work you promote into the component library holds up against production code without heavy rework.
• Quality of feedback. Prototypes are real and clickable enough that stakeholders react precisely, early, and often.
• Product outcomes. Work you ship moves adoption metrics (via Pendo) in the intended direction, and usability issues don't show up as a recurring theme in post-launch feedback or drive avoidable rework.
