Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager - Brazil

We’re looking for a Product Compliance & Risk Senior Manager to join our growing Product Compliance team in LATAM, supporting the Brazil team. This role offers a hands-on opportunity to work directly with product managers, analysts, and engineers to launch and manage compliant products.

Your mission:

Wise has pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can manage their money with the world’s first platform offering true international multi-currency accounts. Your mission is to enable our Brazil product teams to launch new products and manage our risk profile through a deep understanding of regulatory requirements and the regulator’s expectations.

This is a first-line Product Compliance & Risk role. Here’s how you’ll contribute:

1. Collaborate on Product Design:

• Understand regulatory needs and translate them into product solutions.
• Empower product teams to build risk-based products, processes, and controls.
• Design practical, customer-oriented product solutions ensuring full compliance.
• Perform pre-launch and ongoing compliance analysis and risk assessments.
• Design scalable, customer-centric solutions to meet regulatory requirements.
• Advise Product Managers on regulations, gaps, and risks.

1. Manage and Mitigate Regulatory Risks and Controls:

• Identify and manage regulatory risks across all Brazil products.
• Oversee the control environment, designing effective controls and evaluating residual risks.
• Collaborate with compliance colleagues to stay updated on regulations.
• Implement and maintain management information for regional and global decision-making.

1. Audit, Issue Management, and Remediation:

• Oversee audit responses and challenge findings when necessary.
• Develop issue management strategies to mitigate risks.
• Represent Wise in meetings with banking partners and regulators, articulating our compliance framework clearly.

About you:

• Expertise in regulatory and financial crime compliance, with knowledge of Brazilian Central Bank resolutions relevant to Payments and Foreign Exchange.
• Ability to analyze and interpret complex regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with regulatory audits and understanding of local regulators’ expectations in Brazil.
• Experience working with product and engineering teams on KYC and controls.
• Strong communication skills to translate regulatory requirements into practical advice.
• Comfort working in a fast-growing environment, collaborating across teams.
• Problem-solving mindset, ownership, and attention to detail.
• Team player with a collaborative spirit and effective stakeholder engagement.
• Resilience and good humor under pressure.
• Fluent in English and Portuguese.

Additional skills that are a plus:

• Experience with CVM regulations related to investment management.
• Familiarity with Confluence, Jira, and risk/control software.
