Responsibilities and duties
  • Teach classes and guide children's learning, promoting experiences based on RED HOUSE's pedagogical plan and the individual needs of students;
  • Understand the school's Pedagogical Proposal, adopted approach, and grade-specific learning expectations;
  • Analyze students' progress, collect evidence, and address individual needs to improve performance;
  • Develop strategies with the coordination to enhance student engagement based on observations and evidence;
  • Implement differentiation strategies for students with learning difficulties;
  • Supervise the work of the Teaching Assistant (TA) in adapting activities for students with special educational needs;
  • Ensure student safety by constant supervision, guiding, and intervening when necessary;
  • Observe children's behaviors to identify health issues and take appropriate actions;
  • Report children’s behaviors and performance to the coordinator and inform families accordingly;
  • Manage student pickup and drop-off, ensuring safety and proper handover;
  • Follow RED HOUSE's policies and ensure the TA complies;
  • Prepare and review weekly lesson plans and display them visibly in the classroom;
  • Submit activities and materials for approval, respecting deadlines;
  • Maintain accurate student records (Class Journal) as per legislation and policies;
  • Advise students using evidence-based practices and manage conflicts according to school philosophy;
  • Prepare and present report cards on time;
  • Guide the TA on portfolio materials, classroom decoration, and organization;
  • Communicate student progress to parents/guardians in meetings and with supervision;
  • Participate in academic meetings, conferences, and training workshops;
  • Manage student materials and classroom environment;
  • Report daily occurrences related to students to the coordination;
  • Share relevant student information with colleagues;
  • Meet deadlines for newsletters, unit summaries, and planning;
  • Monitor allergies and special diets to ensure safety;
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by superiors.
Qualifications and requirements
  • Education: Degree in Pedagogy
  • Experience:
    • At least 5 years of classroom experience;
    • 2 years as a primary school teacher (ages 6-11) preferred;
    • Classroom management skills.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English
  • Technical Knowledge: Bilingualism
  • Desirable Knowledge: IB Methodology, Child Development
  • Soft Skills and Values: Digital Thinking, Caring Profile, Interpersonal Relationships, Conflict Management, Creativity

  • Working Hours: 38 hours/week (07:40 to 16:15 with 1-hour break)
