Position Summary

Responsible for laying out, assembling, and installing fire protection equipment, including pre-engineered kitchen systems, spray booths, and off-road systems, following NFPA and manufacturer guidelines.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Cut, thread, and groove pipe.
  2. Install conduit and run stainless steel cable.
  3. Install, program, and test fire suppression panels.
  4. Lay out system installations per manufacturer’s guidelines.
  5. Read, research, and identify project needs prior to job start.
  6. Interpret vendor manuals, blueprints, and work orders for installations.
  7. Use hand and power tools for installations.
  8. Complete and record information onto field reports.
  9. Troubleshoot and repair faulty installations.
  10. Maintain documentation and reports related to work.
  11. Evaluate customer sites for additional equipment or services.
  12. Work safely, adhering to the company’s safety manual.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Skills and Abilities
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, including electric and battery-powered equipment.
  • Comfortable working at heights and on ladders or lifts.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces.
  • Understanding of NFPA codes.
  • Willingness to work occasional nights, weekends, and overtime.
  • Preferred: Plumbing, pipefitting, or welding experience (1 year).
Requirements
  • High school diploma required; industry experience preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation; willingness to travel within Pennsylvania.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to read blueprints and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with fire codes and sprinkler systems.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in various conditions, including heights and adverse weather.
  • Experience with lift operations and OSHA guidelines.
  • NICET certification is a plus.
