Une opportunité de recherche postdoctorale à la Faculdade de Filosofia, Letras e Ciências Humanas, Universidade de São Paulo. Le candidat recruté travaillera sur le traitement des phrases complexes en LIBRAS, sous la supervision d'un chercheur principal, et sera responsable de l'annotation linguistique et du développement de datasets pour l'apprentissage machine.

Qualificações

  • PhD en Linguistique axé sur la langue des signes brésilienne (LIBRAS).
  • Certification en traduction/interprétation LIBRAS-PORTUGUESE.
  • Expérience en annotation de données LIBRAS avec l'outil ELAN.

Responsabilidades

  • Appliquer des cadres d'annotation basés sur les glosses.
  • Conduire une revue de littérature sur le suivi oculaire en langues des signes.
  • Développer des ensembles de données pour former des modèles d'apprentissage automatique.

Research on the Processing of Complex Sentences in Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) Using Assistive Technologies

The selected candidate will join the Center for Assistive Technology and Accessibility in Brazilian Sign Language or LIBRAS (CCD-TAAL) under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Felipe Venâncio Barbosa, the center's principal investigator.CCD-TAAL is one of the Science Centers for Development (“CCDs” in the Portuguese-language acronym) in the state of São Paulo (Brazil) supported by FAPESP, the São Paulo Research Foundation. Responsibilities will include applying gloss-based annotation frameworks, conducting a literature review on eye-tracking in sign languages, and developing datasets to train machine learning models.

Requirements:

1. PhD in Linguistics with a focus on Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS);

3. PROLIBRAS/MEC certification – Proficiency in Brazilian Sign Language/Portuguese Translation and Interpretation;

4. Experience in linguistic annotation of LIBRAS data using the ELAN tool;

5. Experience in Portuguese–LIBRAStranslation and interpretation, including work as a TILS (Sign Language Interpreter and Translator) in academic contexts.

Benefits: FAPESP post-doctoral fellowship of BRL 12,000/month (net), plus 10% for research-related expenses.
