Offer Description

Post-doctoral fellowship, with a duration of 24 months, in the area of Remote Sensing and Artificial Intelligence applied to Agriculture to work at the Science Center for Development in Digital Agriculture – Semear Digital, one of the SCDs supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in São Paulo state, Brazil. The center is hosted by EMBRAPA Digital Agriculture, a decentralized unit of the Brazilian Corporation for Agricultural Research (EMBRAPA) located in the city of Campinas.

Activities will include: i) acquisition and organization of satellite image time series; ii) application of AI models to the image series to solve problems including, but not limited to, classification, identification of phenological events, etc.;iii) evaluation of results using data fusion; iv) production of technical reports and scientific papers.

The candidate must have obtained a Ph.D. degree less than 7 (seven) years ago, in the country or abroad, with a degree or post-graduate degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Forestry Engineering, Cartographic Engineering or related areas. The following are desirable: i) good oral and written communication skills; ii) ability to work in an interdisciplinary team; iii) ability to set goals and meet deadlines; iv) ability to read, interpret and write in English.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
