We are looking for a highly motivated researcher, with research history in Ecology, Phenology and Remote Sensing (land surface and near-surface phenology) and ability to work collaboratively. Candidates must present a doctorate in Ecology or related areas (e.g. Remote Sensing, Plant Biology, Conservation), obtained in the last 7 years. The candidate must have skills in developing scientific proposals, fluent communication and writing in English and research experience proven by publications. Fluency in Portuguese is important to work in remote places in Brazil. Requirements include ability to organize and analyze large volumes of data, availability for fieldwork, and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Experience with image processing (phenocameras, satellite), time series analysis, and proficiency in programming languages (R, Python) and artificial intelligence are desirable.
The fellow will join the Center for Biodiversity and Climate Change Research (CBioClima) – a Research, Innovation and Dissemination Center (RIDC) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation and hosted by the Institute of Biosciences of the São Paulo State University (UNESP) in Rio Claro (Brazil).
Position open to candidates of any nationality. Duration of the FAPESP scholarship: 24 months, value: R$ 12,000.00 monthly and includes a Technical Reserve equivalent to10% of the annual fellowship to research expenses. Researchers from outside São Paulo/Brazil are eligible for travel/installation assistance.
