The São Paulo Research Foundation is looking for a post-doctoral fellow in Nephrology to join their Basic Research Laboratory for Kidney Diseases at FM-USP, Brazil. The candidate will investigate chronic kidney disease development post-COVID-19 and engage in various research activities under expert supervision. Candidates of any nationality are welcome to apply.

Qualificações

  • PhD in health sciences for a maximum of seven years.
  • Must not have previously benefited from a post-doctoral scholarship.
  • Previous publications on cohort studies.

Offer Description

Applications open for a post-doctoral fellowship in Nephrology at the Basic Research Laboratory for Kidney Diseases of the University of São Paulo's Medical School (FM-USP), in Brazil. The fellow will work within the scope of a Thematic Project under the supervision of co-Principal Investigator Prof. Dr. Emmanuel Burdmann.

The objectives of the subprojects are:

• Assess the development and/or progression of chronic kidney disease in patients who survived moderate or severe COVID-19 hospitalization;

• Investigate the association of musculoskeletal health with the development and/or progression of chronic kidney disease;

• Compare the assessment of glomerular filtration rate by cystatin c and creatinine in these patients.

Candidate requirements:

• PhD in health sciences for a maximum of seven years;

• He/she must not havepreviously benefited from a post-doctoral scholarship;

• Previous experience with projects related to sarcopenia and musculoskeletal health;

• Knowledge of SPSS and GraphPad Prism statistical software;

• Previous publications on cohort studies.

Candidate Responsibilities:

• Co-supervise master's and doctoral students;

• Treat and analyze databases;

• Write scientific articles in English;

• Take part in periodical research meetings.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a Post-Doctoral fellowship from the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in the amount of BRL 12,000.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
