Offer Description

One post-doctoral position with duration of 12 months is available at the Centre of Excellence in New Target Discovery (CENTD), a multidisciplinary center studying molecular targets of inflammatory diseases, set by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) in partnership with GSK through FAPESP's Engineering Research Centers (ERCs) program. CENTD is hosted by the Butantan Institute in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

The postdoc project aims to identify and validate new pharmacological targets through the investigation of anti-inflammatory peptides derived from animal venoms. The activities involve exploring the biology of the peptides and their in vitro effects on cellular models of inflammation and nociception.

Candidates must have obtained their doctorate degree within the last seven years and have solid experience in molecular biology, including gene editing by CRISPR/Cas9, and cell biology, especially with neurons.

The opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral Fellowship of R$ 12,570.00 per month, along with a Technical Reserve equivalent to 10% of the annual scholarship value to cover unforeseen research-related expenses. If the fellow needs to relocate from outside the city of São Paulo, he/she will be entitled to the Installation Assistance.
