Job summary

QuickOps Consulting is seeking a GCP Platform Engineer to provide hands‑on engineering and operational support for a US-based GCP data platform. You will build and maintain GCP infrastructure with Terraform, manage GitLab CI/CD pipelines, and collaborate with global data platform teams to ensure security and reliability.

The role requires 3–5+ years in platform engineering or related fields, strong English communication, and the ability to work US Eastern Time hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering/IS.
• 3–5+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, data engineering, or related role.
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Strong written and verbal English communication; French is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on engineering and operational support for the US GCP data platform.
• Support US R&D initiatives, including Biostatistics and related data platform programs.
• Build, maintain, and support GCP infrastructure using Terraform and IaC practices.
• Maintain and support GitLab CI/CD pipelines and deployments across development, UAT, and production environments.
• Manage and troubleshoot GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, service accounts, logging, and monitoring.
• Support environment provisioning, access management, deployments, configuration changes, and platform incidents.
• Monitor platform and data pipeline operations, resolving failures, performance issues, and dependencies.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, and deployment procedures.
• Partner with US and global data platform teams to resolve dependencies and platform issues.
• Follow security, governance, SDLC, and change management practices.
• Continuously improve platform reliability, automation, maintainability, and operational efficiency.
• Provide knowledge transfer and technical support to engineering team members.

• Manage and troubleshoot GCP services, including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, IAM, service accounts, logging, and monitoring.
• Support environment provisioning, access management, deployments, configuration changes, and platform incidents.
• Monitor platform and data pipeline operations, resolving failures, performance issues, and operational dependencies.
• Maintain technical documentation, operational runbooks, and deployment procedures.
• Partner with US and global data platform teams and delivery partners to resolve technical dependencies and platform issues.
• Follow established security, governance, SDLC, and change management practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3–5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, cloud engineering, data engineering, or a related technical role.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, and infrastructure‑as‑code practices.
• Experience building or supporting CI/CD pipelines, preferably with GitLab.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and collaborate with US and global stakeholders.
• French proficiency is a plus.
• Ability to work primarily during US Eastern Time (ET) business hours.
