Job Description Summary
The Controller is a key leader for the business unit and drives the development of a culture that thrives on continuous improvement. The role involves developing and maintaining integrated financial systems to provide insight and guidance for decision-making, ensuring reporting integrity through strong internal controls, and ensuring compliance with local statutory and reporting obligations. Additionally, the Controller is responsible for enhancing the professional competence of the Finance team through ongoing development and assessment processes.
Role & Responsibilities
- Accountable for all accounting and financial operations including order to cash, procure to pay, cash flow planning and management, reporting, payroll, capital investment forecasting, budgets, forecasts, and participation in acquisition analyses.
- Develop and maintain accurate product costs following company policies, provide cost quotes, analyze costs, audit and update costs, forecast variances, and communicate cost changes effectively.
- Establish systems and procedures for collecting and recording data for financial reporting, maintain accurate inventory and balance sheet accounts, ensure proper cost allocations, and serve as the contact for external auditors.
- Maintain internal controls to safeguard assets, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the integrity of financial reporting, aligning with internal policies.
- Communicate financial results to business partners, ensuring understanding of how actions impact results, and provide analyses to support business decisions.
- Stay updated on relevant local financial and statutory regulations, particularly taxation, and communicate these requirements to leadership.
- Lead profitability analysis to understand trends and drivers, providing clear information to the Leadership team.
- Oversee capital spending measurement and communication, record fixed assets accurately, and coordinate physical inventories.
- Develop relationships with other leaders and peers, and promote ongoing professional development of the Finance team.
Key Ingredients
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of Financial Leadership experience preferred; cost accounting experience is a plus.
- Fluency in English and Portuguese.
- Experience with ERP process improvements, preferably with TOTVS.
- Strong analytical skills with solutions-oriented mindset.
- Effective communication skills to influence business decisions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and Power Platform, especially Power BI.
