About the Role

The Non-Financial Risk (NFR) Brazil team is responsible for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and challenging non-financial risks across the organization, including operational, technology, cybersecurity, third-party risks. We act as the second line of defense, working independently from business areas to ensure that risk is managed proactively, effectively, and in alignment with internal policies and regulatory expectations.

The ideal candidate should have experience in risk governance, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate complex risk scenarios into actionable recommendations. This position involves interacting with senior stakeholders and presenting risk assessments and key metrics in executive forums. You will be responsible for
  • Ensure that risks are properly assessed and addressed following Nubank's risk governance framework.
  • Engage with product and risk teams to act as the liaison between interested parties.
  • Engage with stakeholders across different seniority levels, including senior managers, to ensure visibility and effective risk management.
  • Prepare structured risk analyses and reports for technical forums and risk committees.
  • Support the Operational Risk agenda by structuring and executing control testing strategies focused on technology and operational risks.
  • Assess the effectiveness of controls.
  • Collaborate with risk owners and enable continuous improvement through data-driven insights.
  • Continuously monitor the control environment, identify process gaps, and collaborate with teams to mitigate risks effectively.
  • Detect relevant risks in the organization and know how to address them to mitigate and avoid unnecessary losses.
We are looking for a person who has
  • Bachelor’s degree in Technology, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Risk Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10+ years of experience leading with risk management in a complex environment.
  • Strong knowledge of risk management, governance, and data analysis.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Operate with limited direct supervision and exercise independence of judgment and autonomy.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance and corporate governance standards.
  • Strong knowledge of Control Testing and Monitoring throughout substantive tests.
  • Experience with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) systems.
  • Experience in financial institutions is desirable.

Our Nu Way of Working

Our work model is hybrid and has cycles that can be from two to three months according to the business of expertise. For every eight or twelve weeks of remote work, one will be at the office.
