We are searching for the best talent for a Oncology MSL Manager position.

The MSL Manager is a leader focused on MAF, TA, CVT and GFC strategies whose mission is to manage the Medical Science Liaison team, field medical strategy and insight generation from field interactions by MSL staff.

The main activities are:

  • Leads, mentors and develops a group of MSLs/medical field force in shaping the HCP Communities in medical behavior changes in order to drive the best treatment decisions for patients, focused on key in line pos launch and Janssen pipeline products;
  • Connects business and medical strategy through a deep understanding of the local medical practice and product strategy, including opportunities and main KOLs;
  • Drives customer insight collection and translates field insights into actionable items, reporting them to internal business partners, influencing decision-making and integrating field medical activities into the broader company strategy;
  • Ensures MSL team is accountable for the execution of the field Medical Sciences Plan, and establishes auditable standards and metrics on the MSL function;
  • Engages with KOLs at a more strategic level, focusing on long-term relationships that have a lasting impact on company’s reputation, scientific standing, and contributions to patient care within the therapeutic area;
  • Facilitates scientific and skill training, as well as mentoring and coaching to support professional development;
  • Defines policies for MSLs, seeking to standardize activities and processes to minimize operational, strategic and corporate responsibility risks;
  • Continuously evaluates the market, to understand current trends of MSLs and, in doing so, ensures that Johnson & Johnson innovates continuously;
  • Provides real-time performance management and coaching to the MSL team, supporting the development of scientific and soft skills;
  • Leads and proactively engages in GFC discussions and works collaboratively with the CVT, contributing with implementation of medical strategies aligned with the product life cycle.

Minimum Qualification

  • Previous experience as MSL
  • Master’s degree
  • Proficient in English
  • Proficient in MS Office
  • Available to travel 50% of time

Other Requirements

  • Generally, 8-10 years of work experience in the pharmaceuticals industry, academic research and/or health care
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking skills
  • Teamwork, leadership, negotiation, coaching and influencing skills – able to work effectively in a matrix organization and maintain peer-to-peer relationships with Leading Specialists
