Jobtailor in Sorocaba, SP, is seeking an Occupational Safety Engineer to join the SESMT at the Sorocaba unit and provide support to Barueri. You will develop and manage mandatory OHS programs (PGR, LTCAT, JSA, APR, PT) and advise leaders on legal requirements.

You will conduct risk assessments, inspections, audits, and incident investigations, and help maintain the OHS management system while ensuring NR compliance and continuous improvement across operations.

Qualificações

• Engineering degree with specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering.
• Active CREA registration.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of OHS legislation and safety practices.
• English: functional proficiency.

Responsabilidades

• Act as Occupational Safety Engineer, composing the SESMT of the Sorocaba unit.
• Provide technical support to the Barueri operational unit.
• Develop and support management of mandatory OHS programs (PGR, LTCAT, JSA, APR, PT).
• Identify hazards, assess risks and propose control measures per GRO.
• Perform assessments of insalubrity and hazardousness and issue opinions.
• Advise leaders and teams on legal requirements and best practices.
• Monitor activities and contracts, providing technical field support.
• Track actions in SGI, HSE software, spreadsheets or platforms.
• Evaluate controls and propose improvements and preventive measures.
• Prepare PPP interfacing with LTCAT and PGR.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits and follow up on critical activities.
• Support accident investigations with root cause analysis and action plans.
• Ensure NR compliance and applicable legislation.
• Prepare technical reports, opinions and OHS indicators.
• Support MOC processes from an OHS perspective.
• Assist OHS trainings and capacity-building initiatives.
• Liaise with contractors, clients and audits.
• Support OHS management system implementation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Act as Occupational Safety Engineer, composing the SESMT of the Sorocaba unit.
• Provide technical support to the Barueri operational unit.
• Develop and support the management of mandatory OHS programs (PGR, LTCAT, JSA, APR, PT, among others).
• Identify hazards, assess risks and propose control measures in accordance with Occupational Risk Management (GRO).
• Perform assessments of insalubrity and hazardousness (insalubridade and periculosidade), issuing technical opinions.
• Advise leaders and operational teams on legal requirements and OHS best practices.
• Monitor operational activities and contracts, providing technical support to field teams.
• Track the recording, traceability and updating of actions in management systems (SGI, HSE software, spreadsheets or corporate platforms).
• Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented controls, proposing continuous improvements and additional preventive measures.
• Prepare, technically validate and sign the PPP (Perfil Profissiográfico Previdenciário), interfacing with LTCAT and PGR.
• Conduct safety inspections, internal audits and follow-up of critical activities.
• Support accident and incident investigations, with cause analysis and development of action plans.
• Ensure compliance with Regulatory Standards (NRs) and applicable legislation.
• Prepare technical reports, opinions and OHS performance indicators.
• Support management of change (MOC) processes from an OHS perspective.
• Support OHS trainings and capacity-building initiatives.
• Act as a liaison with contractors, clients and internal and external audits.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of the OHS management system.

Requirements

• Degree in Engineering with specialization in Occupational Safety Engineering.
• Active registration with CREA.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in an industrial environment.
• Solid knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
• Knowledge in Occupational Hygiene, including:
  • Interpretation of exposure limits (NR‑15, ACGIH, NHO/Fundacentro).
  • Occupational exposure assessment.
• Knowledge of risk analysis, accident investigation and preparation of technical documents.
• Experience with corporate and certification audits.
• MS Office at intermediate or advanced level.
• Availability for occasional travel.
• Intermediate English (functional oral communication for day‑to‑day professional interactions, short presentations and clarification of technical questions).
• Availability to work in Sorocaba, SP.
