We are seeking a skilled Backend Cloud Developer to join a high-impact project with a leader in the smart technology sector. This is a contract position (approx. 20 weeks) that offers the opportunity to work with a modern tech stack and contribute to the evolution of a cloud-native platform.

About the Project

You'll be joining a distributed team focused on building scalable, secure backend services using .NET 8 and Microsoft Azure. The project also involves supporting and gradually migrating legacy components from .NET Framework to the modern .NET Core ecosystem, with a strong emphasis on microservices architecture, cloud-native development, and best engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services and APIs using C# and .NET 8
• Develop and deploy cloud-native applications on Azure
• Architect and maintain microservices-based solutions
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (DevOps, frontend, QA) in a remote, agile environment
• Write clean, testable code and conduct code reviews
• Monitor and improve application performance, security, and reliability

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of backend development experience with C# and .NET (recent experience with .NET Core / .NET 8 is preferred)
• Strong, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure (App Services, Functions, Storage, etc.)
• Proven track record of working with microservices architecture
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps principles
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively in a remote setup
• Availability to work during US Pacific Time (PT) hours

Nice to Have

• Experience with IoT or smart device platforms
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or other containerization tools
• Understanding of event-driven architectures and messaging systems (e.g., Azure Service Bus, Kafka)
